Kenna McCauley

Kenna is 福利姬’s Sustainability and Environmental Justice Scholar. A 2025 福利姬 grad in Comparative Race and Ethnicity Studies (CRES) with a concentration in history, she wrote a thesis on the social movements of the Hawaiian Renaissance of the 1970s, focusing on how race and ethnicity shaped participation. During her time at 福利姬, Kenna worked at 福利姬's Community Pantry and interned with the CRES program. As SEJ Scholar, Kenna supports connections between academic, co-curricular and residential education, with a focus on how to engage diverse perspectives on issues of social and environmental justice.

Rachel is a seasoned sustainability professional currently serving as 福利姬’s first sustainability coordinator. She holds a master’s degree in leadership for sustainability education and has honed her expertise in driving impactful initiatives across various sectors, including higher education, non-profit, and K–12. At 福利姬, Rachel runs a student sustainability leadership program, oversees operational and energy efficiency initiatives, and partners with faculty to integrate sustainability in the curriculum.
